School Programs and Field Trips
Classroom Guide Field Trip Guide
The Naturalists provide classroom programs and field trips for school students to help connect them with their natural world. By exploring a pond, looking eye to eye with a fox snake, or making discoveries on a nature hike, our youth can learn to appreciate and respect the environment. To schedule a program or field trip, email Heather Hucka or call 641-423-5309.
Visit the Center or Invite Us to Your Classroom
Give your students an experience they will never forget!

Our staff is committed to providing positive outdoor activities that will engage your students in new and exciting discoveries and connect them to what they are learning in your classrooms. We invite you to visit the Lime Creek Nature Center for a fun-filled adventure in learning. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide programs to entities that are not in Cerro Gordo County. If you are an educator from a district outside of the county, we encourage you to contact your county naturalist to request a field trip to Lime Creek.
Field trips are available for preschool through high school grade levels. To get started, check out our field trip guide for what we provide. However, we are happy to customize activities to meet your needs if you don't see what you are looking for.
Lime Creek Nature Center staff is also available to assist Cerro Gordo County Schools with field trips to other natural areas such as the Fossil & Prairie Park near Rockford. To schedule a field trip, email Heather Hucka or call 641-423-5309. Scheduling well in advance of your trip will allow you to pick a date that works best for you.

Schedule a program to deepen your students understanding!
The Lime Creek Nature Center has a wide variety of conservation programs that will engage your students on a topic that coincides with your curriculum goals. Our programs are age-appropriate, hands-on, and presented by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic naturalist. We will also assist teachers in correlating the program with NGSS, Mystery Science, and STEM standards.
We also can customize and develop NEW programs to coincide with curriculum topics. To schedule a classroom program and discuss program opportunities, email Heather Hucka or call 641-423-5309.
